Pressure and sleep

The science of why you keep turning over

Five steps from body weight to a broken night.

1

Your weight lands on a few points

Shoulders, hips and pelvis take a disproportionate share of your body weight the moment you lie down.

2

The load doesn't stop at your skin

It travels down through muscle and fascia into the corridors where nerves and blood vessels run.

3

Those corridors get squeezed

The structures serving your whole arm or leg sit directly beneath the point your weight lands on.

4

Your body raises the alarm

Numbness, pins and needles, a dull ache, and the urge to move.

5

You turn over

And every one of those position changes can break your REM or NREM cycles.

The science of why you keep turning over

Five factors

Five ways your mattress affects overnight recovery

Two act on where your body meets the bed. Three act on the night as a whole.

The evidence

Backed by published research

How latex compares with the two materials most mattresses are built from.

Materials

Every layer, explained

Most brands will not tell you the density of what you are sleeping on. Every layer below is named, specified and measurable. We think the rest of the industry should do the same.

1 Soft-Knit Breathable Cover

Soft-knit cover that stretches and breathes, so heat doesn't build up against your skin.

Composition

High-performance polyester blend

Origin

Made in India

2 Fibreglass-Free Fire Barrier

Meets flammability standards without fibreglass, so nothing irritating can ever escape the cover.

3 Pressure-Relief Layer

Contours and distributes from your shoulders and hips so you can settle without pressure points building overnight.

Firmness

Holds you up without pushing back.

Too firm and pressure concentrates at your shoulder and hip. Too soft and you lose the stable support that keeps your spine aligned and makes turning easy. At a 7/10 firmness, you'll feel stable and grounded, with just enough give to relieve pressure at your shoulders and hips.

Responsive by design

Absorptive Bounce

Responsive latex that absorbs impact and springs back. That responsiveness is what stops you sinking into a dent by year three, and what lets you turn over without waking your partner.

Why we cost more

Nidraka vs Other Latex Mattresses

There are 2 types of latex mattresses in the market. Budget latex that usually costs from 7k-20k and Premium Latex that is from 15k-40k. This is how we compare against them

If we seem more expensive that other latex mattresses its because - We use 100% natural latex. We use high density materials so they last long. And we don't use jargon like AirTech or CoolMaxPro to make cheap foam seem expensive.

Straight answers

But what about...

Delivery, returns and the questions worth asking before you buy a mattress online.

What if I don't get on with it?

Sleep on it for 100 nights. If it isn't right, message us and we arrange collection from your door and refund you in full.

No restocking fee, no return shipping to pay, and nothing for you to re-roll or repack. You don't need the original box, and we won't ask you to justify it.

Why 100 nights, when the rest of Cosylabs is 10 days?

Because a mattress isn't a sofa cover. Your body takes weeks to adjust to a new sleep surface, and the first few nights on any mattress tell you very little.

Cosylabs products carry our standard 10-day return window. Nidraka gets 100 nights because that is honestly how long it takes to know.

Where do you deliver, and how long does it take?

We deliver to every pincode in India, and shipping is free everywhere. Your mattress is dispatched within 72 hours of ordering.

After that, expect 2–3 days across North India and 3–5 days for the rest of the country.

Is one inch of latex really enough?

Your body only interfaces with the top surface. The latex layer is what manages pressure at that interface; the seven-inch high-resilience core underneath is what provides the support structure.

Making the latex layer thicker changes the price far more than it changes what you feel.

Doesn't latex sleep hot?

Natural latex is open-cell and pinhole-cored, so air moves through it. It is not the coolest surface money can buy — actively cooled and high-airflow surfaces perform better in testing — but it traps considerably less heat than dense viscoelastic foam.

I'm heavier than average. Will it hold up?

Support comes from the seven-inch high-resilience core, which is specified by density and resilience rather than thickness alone.

If you are near the top of the weight range, message us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether this is the right mattress for you.

I've read that latex causes allergies.

Latex allergy is associated with residual proteins in dipped latex products such as gloves and balloons. The vulcanised foam latex used in mattresses is produced differently and sits under a cover you never touch directly.

If you have a diagnosed latex allergy, speak to your doctor before buying.

What does the warranty cover, and how do I reach you?

Nidraka carries a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
